OpenBCi decided to create an open-source brain-computer interface (BCI) that takes brainwaves out of the lab and puts them in the hands of anyone with a computer. Why ... to speed up the development of brain technology. Imagine turning the lights on in your home by using your mind or controlling a video game you play just by thinking about it. It's not far way. Brain power is already being used to help paralyzed patients move their arms, but the technology behind the breakthroughs has always proprietary. OpenBCI wanted to speed up development so they open-sourced the core. They hired us to launch their project and the rest is history.
