From time to time, revolutionary technologies emerge, reshaping the way we look at the world. Our venture into Cellid was spurred by the conviction that Extended Reality is one such game-changing innovation destined to enhance the lives of many.

However, for XR to achieve widespread adoption and approval, it must transcend the current limitations of bulky, and clunky XR glasses saturating the market. That's why we've chosen to leverage our expertise to propel the industry forward.

Backed with $15 million in funding, we develop cutting-edge XR display modules and software that bring the vision of slimmer and more immersive XR glasses to fruition.

Thanks to the synergy of AI and nanotechnology, we've developed an advanced display module boasting an expansive field of view along with superior efficiency and resolution.

The breakthrough lies in our slim and immersive Waveguides, precisely channeling virtual content directly into our field of view (FOV).

This technological marvel enables an expansive 60-degree FOV, providing an unparalleled extended reality experience that is truly mind-blowing. A wider field of view opens up new dimensions for users, allowing them to perceive a larger segment of the virtual or augmented world. This results in a more realistic and immersive encounter, as users can observe additional details, objects, and interactions within the virtual environment, creating a seamless extension of the real world. This heightened experience fosters increased focus, attention, and overall enjoyment, a crucial factor for the widespread adoption of XR.

Perhaps best of all, our state-of-the-art waveguides allow for more compact and lightweight XR glasses. Now users can effortlessly integrate these glasses into their daily activities, both indoors and outdoors, seamlessly incorporating extended reality into their routines. This heightened wearability not only prioritizes comfort but also amplifies XR's potential to enhance various facets of daily life.

Cellid's XR glasses employ an "Optical See-Through" technology, allowing users to seamlessly view the real space outside just as they would without wearing the glasses. Additionally, the images projected onto the glass remain invisible to onlookers, ensuring a private and immersive experience for the wearer.

Cellid Software

Cellid's strength is, not only creating the hardware but also developing Cellid SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping). Cellid SLAM is a key technology that empowers XR devices to understand their real-world position, depth and height and concurrently build a digital map of the environment. SLAM ensures the system is constantly aware of your location within the physical space while constructing a dynamic map that includes details like walls and objects in real-time. This synchronized process enables XR experiences to seamlessly integrate virtual elements with the actual surroundings, enhancing the overall immersion for users.

In essence, Cellid SLAM bridges the virtual and physical worlds by providing accurate spatial awareness. It's the behind-the-scenes magic that ensures virtual objects in XR apps align convincingly with the real world, enabling users to interact naturally with digital content as if it were an integral part of their environment. This simultaneous understanding and mapping capability lay the foundation for a more realistic and engaging extended reality experience.

About Cellid

Satoshi Shiraga, the CEO of Cellid, spent an extensive period as a researcher in the realm of elementary particles. During this time, he conducted experiments aimed at replicating events that occur with very small probabilities through the simultaneous computation of vast amounts of data on a computer. His aspiration was to integrate this technology into society, laying the foundation for the company's inception. The journey began with the development of an image recognition engine, utilizing neural network and grid computing technologies. Progressing from there, the focus expanded to 3D spatial recognition. As the company delved into providing spatial recognition services, they began researching extended reality XR glasses. Conversations with engineers revealed that the hardware, particularly the display part of XR glasses, posed a significant challenge. Recognizing Japan's prowess in optical engineering and semiconductor materials, crucial for XR glasses development, the company embarked on the path of creating cutting-edge XR glasses. To date cellid has raised 2.28 billion yen (15.6 million USD) in support of it’s efforts.
